Biography

Rigour first, everything else second.

Dr Kajal Babamiri practises at the point where several disciplines meet. She is a GP with a specialist interest in dermatology — a qualification that requires demonstrable expertise beyond general practice in the diagnosis and management of skin disease — and she has built the rest of her practice outward from that diagnostic foundation.

That foundation matters more than it might sound. A great deal of what presents in aesthetic clinics is not, in fact, an aesthetic problem. Pigmentation can be post-inflammatory, hormonal or photodamage. Hair loss can be autoimmune, nutritional or endocrine. Persistent facial redness can be rosacea, lupus or something else entirely. Treating the surface without establishing the cause is how patients end up worse off, having spent a considerable amount of money to get there.

Her consultations are therefore diagnostic before they are anything else. Patients are examined properly, investigated where indicated, and told plainly what is going on — including, frequently, that the treatment they came in asking for is not the treatment they need.

Alongside dermatology, Dr Babamiri works in medical aesthetics, longevity and preventative medicine, bioidentical hormone therapy, laser and energy-based treatment, and private general practice. The breadth is deliberate: the same patient asking about skin quality is often the patient whose sleep, hormones, metabolic markers and stress load are all part of the answer.

Principles

Three commitments that shape every consultation.

01

Diagnose, then treat

No treatment is offered before a diagnosis is established. Where the diagnosis is uncertain, that is said out loud and investigated — not worked around.

02

Say no when no is right

Declining to treat is a clinical decision, and often the correct one. Patients are told when a procedure won't achieve what they're hoping for.

03

Continuity of care

The doctor who assesses you is the doctor who treats you and reviews you. Nothing is delegated to a stranger with a syringe.

Television & Media

CLNQ — raising the standard behind the scenes.

Good clinics are not only a matter of good clinicians. They are a matter of systems: records, consent, governance, follow-up, and the discipline to do the unglamorous things consistently.

As co-founder of CLNQ, Dr Babamiri works on that side of medicine — the infrastructure that determines whether a clinic can deliver safe, consistent, well-documented care at scale. It is the same standard applied to a different problem, and it informs how she assesses other providers' practices in her medicolegal work.
